Is Rice Abandoning Ft. Greene Location? [Brownstoner] GMAP
I may be going out on a limb here but I’d submit most people eat out at mediocre places most of the time. The same ol’, same ol’ phenomenon. Who goes to a fabulous dinner every time they go out?
“dh did you fail economics? there’s absolutley no reason to support a business you don’t like there product.”
yeah – because potential business owners are really going to want to invest in a neighborhood where a perfectly fine restaurant (that is successful in Dumbo and Nolita) goes out of business

It always looked really sad inside. It’s supposed to be a restaurant, but it acted as though it was just another coffee shop. (As if FG needed another one of those.) This is an ideal location for something though, so I do hope something really great opens up. AND STAYS OPEN LATE! No more coffee bars, PLEASE!
I agree with everyone on the food being “o.k.” and it was one of few places in the neighborhood that served sapporo.
if you don’t support the “mediocre” places, you won’t get any (new) good ones.
I’m with Altervoce and the others – food was pretty good, but way overpriced (based on their Mott Street location – they overpriced even by Soho standards!).
agreed eh, Rice was at best mediocre, i will not miss it either.
Mostly thought it was really poorly done “fusion” yeeash what is this 1999, good riddance
“I was like, is this where they all are?”
they’re in Moe’s and Madiba too.
