Tina Roth Eisenberg, who designs and blogs under the company name Swissmiss, is a Swiss designer gone NYC. She and her family live in Boerum Hill, and her blog is an interesting pastiche of very modern product design and graphic arts. Recently, she posted photos and a link to this Swiss manufacturer of the coolest modern fireplaces I’ve ever seen. Check out her site, as well as the site for Rutz Feuerstellen. Now all I need is some serious Euros, and some Brooklyn loft space.

  1. rob, only the flat surface of the walls below the picture rail will be turquoise. Everything here that’s white stays white and will stand out more with a deeper color next to it.

I’m just afraid it’s going to be waaaaayyyyyy too bright.

  2. oooh turquoise. me like! but turquoise and wood do not go together! are you gonna at least strip out the old wood junk before painting it turquoise (electric turquiose or just plain btw?)

  3. Snappy, as far as I know that’s called wedding cake detail. MM and some of the others will know if there are other names for it. It’s all raised plaster in swag designs and flowers.

  4. LOL dave. who is the ho bag in the painting above the mantel? also im not a big fan of butter cream walls, but i do remember you said you were thinking about changing the color right?
