Dave, I know its not havana, or Mexico, but I was giving your color choice a historical context. The dining room at Mount Vernon is painted a fairly shocking green-blue. You should check that out. Evidently it was the original color when the George lived there.

Add a 100 gallon fish tank with only a couple of large Koi, a McIntosh Amplifier with retro vacum tubes and a DDD version of Mozart’s 40th or his Don Giovanni with a bottle of Laphroaig to complete the aesthetic.
…oh, and some kind of faux fur throw on the floor.
If I was deciding to do it darker it would be a deep red or green, probably not blue. My windlock is royal blue.

Dave, in Havana many of the 17th and 18th century houses have wooden balconies and wooden window grilles that are painted “Havana Blue” which is basically turquoise. But they never used that color indoors.
