Uh oh….Calexico at 88 5th Avenue in Park Slope has been seized. Looks like there are no hopes of it coming back, considering “For Rent” signs are up on all the windows. (Here’s Park Slope noticed it too, and confirmed that it’s closed for good.) Sad to see it go? GMAP

  1. “to live within their means and housing is a big portion of that here.”

Aren’t you the person who’s moved 17 times in 10 years?

  2. I liked the story too.

I think most of us have overextended ourselves in the past, and she seemed to just want to share her story, not look for sympathy.

  3. 11217, jealousy of what? Student loans and all the ramifications of that? Oh. hells. no. Not stone-hearted whatsoever, although yes very little sympathy for people who choose not to live within their means and housing is a big portion of that here.

  4. for what it’s worth i enjoyed the story too and know that it’s rough times, however, sorry but i got a laugh out of bowl of dick’s comment as well! i mean calexico doesnt exactly have taco bell prices you know!

    *rob*

  5. BOD – you are so incredibly rude. ALL the time.

LincolnSlope, I enjoyed your story and also have places like this which brings me back to a certain time in my life – both good and bad.

Some people on here clearly have hearts of stone. Don’t let someone else’s jealousy take away from your memories.
