Brooklyn Burger Invasion Continues

Smashbuger, a chain based in Denver, is moving into the ground-floor retail space at 80 Dekalb. It should open in mid-April, the first of three locations to hit the borough. The burgers are smashed, seasoned, and seared on the griddle…who’s had one? Smashburger is also concocting a “Brooklynburger,” although its ingredients haven’t been revealed yet.

I love a good milkshake.
i don’t get how rob isn’t a moonface? is he from brooklyn originally and not white? i guess i don’t exactly understand the requirements…..
Yes, Smashburger is pretty good.
They smash the burger-ball onto a lump of butter.
The weird “Production Line Imagineering” part is: they have 3 different jaggy-edged metal molds that give it a homemade look while searing the edge, keeping it from falling apart.
It’d good though. Ask them to grill the bun in butter. mmmmm.
i like butter.
Avocado or asiago cheese on a burger is good. Eating so much red meat isn’t though.
“Moonphace, maybe? Moonfayce? da moonface? ”
haha – those would all be good!
I’ve visited a SmashBurger location in Montclair, NJ. It’s okay, nothing to write home about. It’s something less than a Five Guys buger in terms of quality, but about equal in the price. Everyone at the Montclair locale was really friendly. So there’s that. The milkshake was damned fine.
“uhh yeah, because things can’t have different meanings. that’s why kids say things are “the shit” when they are expressing satisfaction. if something is “da bomb” it is not necessarily a device with a timer that explodes.”
I see. Kids these days and their complicated wordplay – I just can’t keep up. Maybe moonface in the context of “generic white midwesterners” needs a tweak to differentiate it from people with round faces. Just as “da bomb” clues me in that the kiddos aren’t talking about “a bomb” or in the way that “the shit” is differentiated from plain old “shit.”

What do you “real” brooklyners of 5-15 years in the borough think would be a good idea for a Brooklyn Burger, just curious.
**
Not to be called “Brooklyn,” just “hamburger.” That’s from someone who’s been here 47 years, here born and raised.
