Yesterday the Bed Stuy Blog reported the rumor that an Italian restaurant was prepping to open at 327 Stuyvesant Avenue at the corner of Macon Street. From what we hear, this is right on the money. In fact, word is that the guy behind the new restaurant is David Seatts, who started Tavern on Nostrand, so it should be nice.

  1. Anyone know the timing on this place? I haven’t noticed them doing any work. Same goes for the saraghina-owned restuarant to be on Halsey – I haven’t seen any sign of work being done. Just curious. If these places happen – along with Butternut – I will be a very happy camper.

  2. Mopar…

You’re laughing but when I realized that it was a bogus brick oven, I was pissed. He made a big deal about the “Brick Oven” and that it was going to be the best pizza is Brooklyn. (smh) Plus it was pricey…at the time I believe a pie was like 18 bucks. Come on!

  3. If all these promised places are really gonna open this spring, we’ll have a mini restaurant row in Bed Stuy.

Anyone been to the antique shop on Tompkins and Macon (I think)? Wow, that place is amazing.

  4. Can someone please explain to me: Is there a secret Italian expat community in Bed Stuy? Is it huge among the Italians? Do Italians in Italy dream of moving to Bed Stuy? Because there sure seem to be a lot of Italians there lately.
