In fact, word is that the guy behind the new restaurant is David Seatts, who started Tavern on Nostrand, so it should be nice.

David Seatts definitely has his detractors, but the guy thinks big and creates restaurants in neighborhoods like Crown Heights and Bed Stuy whose only cuisine options were takeout chinese food and bodega hero sandwiches.
He even tried a sushi restaurant near the same location of the Pizza shop and tavern on nostrand.
whoa….that brooklynian thread is damning.
I fully applaud the effort to bring restaurants to Bed-Stuy, but have to say…Saraghina is about as good as Italian gets. Why open another Italian restaurant? The area is lacking in all sorts of cuisines (though not sushi anymore, yay!). Chefs, if you’re reading this: I used to work at a food mag and know how high rents/costs can be to open your first restaurant. Take a chance on Bed-Stuy. You can get a beautiful, historic storefront and build a loyal following among foodies who lack for options!

Thanks for the assurance, I’ve noticed happy hour deals and participation during restaurant week(?)….I’ll check them out as soon flip flop weather breaks.
….it will most certainly benefit the community just like it did over here, but his attitude sorta sucks. Talk to him for longer than 30 minutes (if you can last that long) and you’ll see.
…he’s the only guy I know that can make a hedge fund trader feel imperfect. Amazing.
