We were right with our last rumor about the future of the Gage & Tollner space at 374 Fulton Street so we’ll plow ahead with this next unconfirmed dispatch: We’re hearing that the prospective tenant for the historic eatery is a fast food chain of some sort. No names yet, but we’re told that it’s a company that currently does not have a presence in the city. Because the interior is landmarked, the deal is contingent upon LPC approval. Sounds like a very bad idea to us. Anyone care to guess what chain it is? Quelle horreur!

Having eaten at UNO’s I can vouch for the craptasticness of it.
Having lived in Chicago from 1978 to 1994, UNO’s is absolute crap.
Friendly’s, UNO Pizza, Cheesecake Factory might fit with the decor of the space…though not sure if CF fits definition of “fast food”.
Unfortunately, I believe the family that owns In n Out Burger has stated they have no plans to venture far out of Cali (only a few stores just out of Cali’s border for now). So you can only hope for those cups with the religious phrases underneath.
