gage-tollner-interior-0309.jpgWe were right with our last rumor about the future of the Gage & Tollner space at 374 Fulton Street so we’ll plow ahead with this next unconfirmed dispatch: We’re hearing that the prospective tenant for the historic eatery is a fast food chain of some sort. No names yet, but we’re told that it’s a company that currently does not have a presence in the city. Because the interior is landmarked, the deal is contingent upon LPC approval. Sounds like a very bad idea to us. Anyone care to guess what chain it is? Quelle horreur!

  1. I seriously doubt any true fast food franchise would want the headache of trying to match their business model to a landmarked interior….its not like retail space is hard to come by these days.

  2. brooklyn is in dire need of a HOOTERS! (im serious). i had my 28th and 29th birthday at the hooters in midtown and i never had a more fun time. those hooters waitresses love me!!! (tho i must say there must be some kind of weird anti discrimination policy going on cuz the waitresses in the manhattan hooters are pretty busted and dont live up to the name of the restaurant!
