We were right with our last rumor about the future of the Gage & Tollner space at 374 Fulton Street so we’ll plow ahead with this next unconfirmed dispatch: We’re hearing that the prospective tenant for the historic eatery is a fast food chain of some sort. No names yet, but we’re told that it’s a company that currently does not have a presence in the city. Because the interior is landmarked, the deal is contingent upon LPC approval. Sounds like a very bad idea to us. Anyone care to guess what chain it is? Quelle horreur!

There are a couple above average Chinese places in Park Slope. And then there are some GREAT ones down in Sunset Park, Dave.
Why isn’ there any good Chinese in Brooklyn? A better question might be “Why is there so much bad Chinese in Brooklyn???” Bed Stuy is littered with Chinese takeout…each one worse than the next. And, surprisingly, most of them are actually run by Cantonese!!!! It baffles my mind how god awful they are.
Hmmm. Based on the landmarked decor, it could be an Uno’s pizzeria. Something like that would probably be successful in this location.

Benihana?
I think it’s way too large a space for In and Out Burger, but a girl can dream.
