184-kent-0525.jpgAll is not well apparently at 184 Kent…A tipster reports some tension between the management and the doormen and handymen at the recently-opened rental building. According to a flyer being handed out on the street outside the building this morning, two workers were sacked for trying to unionize building. “With luxury rentals advertised between $2,240 and $4,825 for a 2br, 184 Kent can afford to treat their workers better,” says the 32BJ-sponsored flyer.

  1. And yet they were fired and I suspect nothing will come of it.

It’s bullshit and it has got to change. The entitlement programs are the primary reason why every state and municipality are facing dire circumstances. Look what they are doing to British Airways as we speak. They just don’t get it. I’m waiting for someboidy big to bust a union. I think it’ll likely be a municipality though…maybe Christie.

  2. I read comments everyday from people who don’t know what they are talking about. This topic happens to be my area of expertise. It is without a question a violation of the National Labor Relations Act to fire an employee for attempting to join a union.

  3. pig3, OBAMA should’ve told them F off too. like any of us, unions are suppose to be greedy asking for shit. if mgt is gutless and always bending over, there’s the freaking problem and culprit

  4. Really, don’t blame the unions? Why is there a 40% import tax on foreign tires courtesy of Obama? Answer: Rubber workers Union (now part of the steel Union) and soon to be part – if not already – of the Auto workers Union. Why did the union receive such a huge dividend on the gifted share of GM? Tax payer subsidies not enough? Thanks again to Obama. What is the effect of the Union labor on the cost of Airfare, train fare? and electric and fuel costs? Ever see a ConEd guy sleeping in his truck? Don’t blame the Unions? You must be kidding.
