In the words of the broker, this two-bedroom rental in a Clinton Hill brownstone is the “true urban sanctuary.” We might not go that far, but we do like this place. There are very few hints of original detail in the 1,800-square-foot duplex, but the apartment does feel open and spacious. The interior design in the listing photographs is really nice too. There’s a new kitchen, central air and heat, and a “private roof oasis,” which are all good things. It’ll set you back $4,500 a month in rent, though, which is on the high side on a per-floor basis for the neighborhood. What do you think?

Good point, more4. This place is lovely and the outdoor space is a really nice bonus I presume the church spaces don’t have.
It does seem high, but who knows anymore?
If the layout was a 3br, I think 4500 would be achievable. 2br layout makes me think it is too high. Around 4000 is more likely imo.
4.5k does look high. maybe 700-800 high. but then when I hear those large units in that newly renovated former church mansion on Clinton rented out their $5k+ units in a blink, I wouldn’t be surprised this gets rented out at 4.5k too.
oh maybe the cock statue with the lighty thing above it demands the extra 1500 dollars plus overcharge this apt is asking :-/

oh get the *f* out of here. almost 5000 dollars split between two people in clinton hill!?! :-/ the world has gone INSANE!
this website needs to stop glorifying these outliers of apartments, im SURE it makes owners think they can get more and more and more and there are always idiots out there who will pay it, but still… ever think about being careful about what you create? frankenstein much?

It’s also for sale for about 1,250,000. It sold for $1,132,803 in 2008.
With the exception of a job relocation I always wonder why people pour so much time and money into buying a place only to sell it two years later.
Wow, times have changed. This is amazing. Is Clinton Hill now more expensive than Manhattan?
$4500 for 2BR in Clinton Hill?
Is that even remotely close to reasonable?
Agree with Ishtar. Needs to come down by a cool $1,500 to be reasonable. Someone may rent for more, but if so, they are paying too much.
