In the words of the broker, this two-bedroom rental in a Clinton Hill brownstone is the “true urban sanctuary.” We might not go that far, but we do like this place. There are very few hints of original detail in the 1,800-square-foot duplex, but the apartment does feel open and spacious. The interior design in the listing photographs is really nice too. There’s a new kitchen, central air and heat, and a “private roof oasis,” which are all good things. It’ll set you back $4,500 a month in rent, though, which is on the high side on a per-floor basis for the neighborhood. What do you think?

Wait, it’s for sale for $1.2MM? Duplexes in Clinton Hills sell for $1.2MM now? Or is that for the entire house?
Looks like a lovely place, and I can believe the rent could be about 3800-4K at this location. If it were in a mansion on Clinton or Washington, that’d command more of a premium, wouldn’t it?
“An average floor-through in a decent house goes for $1600 or more.”
Enough said.
This is an 1800 sf duplex apt, completely renovated,
on a nice block with outdoor space.
An average floor-through in a decent house goes for $1600 or more. This is dramatically nicer.
The price may be a little bit of a stretch, but I’m sure there will be substantial interest from a two-career couple who want a nice rental.
CLINTON HILL – SWEET MOSES! There is no way I would pay that amount to live there… It is only 2 bedrooms!!! God I hope the reason these apartments are featured is because its just plain silly.
“I would love to see a place that is as large, with outdoor space, and nice finishes like this place in any other nice Bklyn or Manhattan neighborhood for less. I bet people would be hard pressed to find one, even at 4k/month.”

Like I said, high for a 2br, but not too high if it were a 3br necessarily (which it is not…). That said, I would love to see a place that is as large, with outdoor space, and nice finishes like this place in any other nice Bklyn or Manhattan neighborhood for less. I bet people would be hard pressed to find one, even at 4k/month.

It does seem high, but who knows anymore?
MANY people know. MANY MANY MANY. And they are getting a bit antsy if you know what i mean.
Clinton Hill must be the most over-rated, overpriced nabe in Brooklyn if people are willing to pay that much in rent. Can rent similar properties in any one of Fort Greene, Carroll Gardens or Park Slope for less.
grand pa, if you know of a 2 bedroom 1800 sq foot duplex with a private roof deck in Manhattan for 4500/month, please share 😉
