Rental of the Day: 585 6th Avenue
This one-bedroom rental is located at 585 6th Avenue, which launched this summer as a new 27-unit residential building. The interior looks quite nice, but what caught our eye was the price tag: $4,200 a month for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom between 16th Street and Prospect. The interior looks quite nice, but what caught our eye was the price tag: $4,200 a month for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom between 16th Street and Prospect. The square footage isn’t listed but we sure hope this place is big! Otherwise that’s a pretty big nut for the location. Update: Looks like there was a mistake in this particular listing. One bedrooms are $2600 and the two bedrooms are $3200, there are no $4,200 units. The links have been changed to reflect.

Nope, it’s on Prospect Ave between 5th and 6th.
Streeteasy is all over the place price wise on this place.
There is a 2br/2ba unit listed at the laughable price of $6000, but it appears to have already been rented for $3200.
Still rather high, but not quite so insane.
I mean, the inside is hideous. The outside is very nice.
If it were in Manhattan, the price would make a lot more sense.
Also, the design is Standard Modern Hideous.
This is completely absurd. Who would rent a one bedroom in this location for $4500 a month? Perhaps the bikes belong to the live-in super.
Looks as though they’re getting some pretty big numbers on the rentals…

A 2 bedroom (unit 2B) was asking 6K and has been rented as of October 17th…
> someone will probably be stupid enough to rent it.
No. They won’t. I’m pretty confident about that.
> be they should market this place as “We make your dreams come true.”
At those prices, the slogan should be “You make our (crackpipe) dreams come true.”
No matter, Dave. According to this map posted, we are in Manhattan. What’s with the maps being wrong lately?
