Sotheby’s has a rental on the market, 425 Keap Street, which is called “one of the original residential buildings in Williamsburg.” The 1,500-square-foot apartment’s undergone a pretty complete reno but there’s still original tile and exposed brick for those needing a taste of the old world. The $4,200-a-month price tag, however, seems better suited for the other side of the BQE, don’t you think?

  1. That’s just insane even to somebody that knows the Northside market quite well. I’d be very surprised if they find a taker at that rate. Somebody will bite around $2750 but no shot at 4k+, ha!

  2. I’m hesitating between blah and what!? This listing is really pure invention: it’s not 1,500 sf but about 1,000-1,100sf, it’s a 1 bedroom with a nice big lofty living room, on the “wrong” side of the BQE. They must be hoping for a newcomer to con.

  3. GTFOH , you can find the exact same apartment in soho for less. yeah i know who wants to live in soho, but still. this is absurd. nice apt tho. wack price. but some creative professional phoney will rent it im sure.

  4. Original to what? Gentrification?

(This building was abandoned for ages, and then underwent a VERY slow rehab beginning in the late 90s. I think it was completed in the early 00’s.)

    I hate broker babble.
