Rental of the Day: 129 Fort Greene Place
This three-bedroom, one-bathroom offering at 129 Fort Greene Place is looking pretty good. In addition to its central location, it’s got a lot of space (1,500 square feet over two floors) and even some historic charm, which is hard to find in a rental. Why would 2 roomates rent a 3 bedroom apartment? Probably the same reason people rent 2 bedrooms when they are a couple…an extra room. A home office, a guest room, storage, etc. I’ve done it…a lot of people I know do it. I don’t know why that is foreign sounding. It’s called spreading out.
why would 2 roommates rent a 3-bedroom duplex? It’s not impossible, but what is more likely?
What? $3050? That was a joke you told yourself. Ok…I live in Ft. Greene and I believe the most likely scenario would be 2 roomates or may a couple and a baby. I don’t know where the whole camp of people living in an apartment came from. I don’t know a lot of college people that live in Ft. Greene…Clinton Hill maybe, but more adults live in Ft Greene. People are young and cute…they don’t do the whole gang of people in the household.
no one “bright” is moving into this place.

rob-i can’t stop laughing. you f*cking hilarious!
“Not necessarily, DH. I used to live in an LES tenement that had communal bathrooms in the hallway. Shower/bath in the kitchen, toilet in the hall. But in general, agreed.”
Haha Fred. Yeah, I’ve seen a few buildings with this set up. Crazy!!
It is very common for 3 or 4 BRIGHT college students to share the pricier apartments with only one bathroom, if they want something bigger than a closet to live in.
But Rob, tell us how you really feel.

I will never share my bathroom with cats again. Two bathrooms or 1.5 it must be, and to be fair- this place is big, its so not for one person. But that is not why its overpriced.
I just have a cat to person ratio that must be met when it comes to bathrooms.
But most importantly there is no outside space and sorry Ft. Greene doesnt get $$ as much as those other areas mentioned I would put this closer to -$3,050
