This one-bedroom at 434 Greene Avenue is located in a townhouse in Bed Stuy and has some of the nice architectural details you’d expect from such a set up: high ceilings, fireplace, original floors. The asking rent was recently reduced from $1,400 to $1,300 but the broker is still trying to pass the place off as being in Clinton Hill. Nice try. Fair price?

  1. “Remember what salaries were in the 1990s? They’re higher now – in every realm (if not in real $). It’s called inflation.”

Remember what unemployment was? Much lower in every realm. Like half of what it is now. It’s called a deflationary depression.

“Higher” salaries (actually stagnant or lower in real terms) in only half as many jobs does not bode well for the rental market. Even worse in NYC as our unemployment rate is higher than the national average.

That’s why this listing is still sitting even after a measly reduction.
