A franchise of the firm Rapid Realty is opening a storefront location on the corner of Pioneer and Van Brunt. According to Johnny Colon, a broker with the company, the Red Hook location is supposed to be open for business before the month is out, and it’s one of 14 new Rapid franchises in the works. Another one is being built out in Clinton Hill on Myrtle Avenue between Franklin and Skillman, Colon said. The majority of the real estate firm’s storefronts are in Brooklyn. GMAP
So, the renters come to Red Hook. Does that mean people want to live here now? Oh lord, we’re not becoming hip are we? I swear, I’ll move. On the other hand, I’m liking the sound of this snacky-shop. It’s a tough call.
not sure about all the bad reviews. Maybe i lucked out but i had a good experience renting an apartment with this company. I also recommended my friend to the agent i worked with and he also had a good experience.
I am an Asian snacky-shop owner.
And I am listening.
I dunno… they got me my last apt with no problems. Maybe it just depends who you work with. Don’t they have like a billion agents?
I think its cool that people are paying attention to Red Hook though. So sick of people thinking the whole neighborhood is nothing but ikea
We were really hoping for an inexpensive food place, although the space is quite small. (a barber took over the other half) Red Hook really needs more cheap, casual dining options that are open past 3pm. Any Asian snacky-shop owners listening?
petebklyn – good observation. it does feel like their business model is to rip off their agents as much as their customers.
i hear they are going for twenty offices, as many as fillmore
Freakin Greaaaaaaat < sarcasm
I was hoping for a Snack-y place or a nice little store.
This was the location of the “Hardware Store” that was open for like 5 random days last year then finally closed. I think the owner got ill or something.
Is there enough rental inventory in the area to justify putting a brokers office here? I think not.
Maybe the rent was so cheap on the place ($1500 ask) and the foot traffic so good in the summer months that they’re using it for presence – sort of like a billboard to hawk their brand.
Don’t think I have ever seen such unanimously bad reviews on YELP:
