M4L, LOL! Although people of Vancouver are known to smoke something else. I think a lot of Canadians were very upset with that slogan given most Canadians are comfortably self-deprecating types who are not prone to such bravado. It was rather embarrassing, actually. Even more embarrassing when they’re around fourth or fifth in the medal standings and nowhere close to the US. Then again, realistic Canadians all knew there was no chance of finishing first in overall medals.
Dont understand why canada keeps saying they’ll still have the medal count lead when US and Germany are both racking up medals. Let that slogan drift away. bring it back if & when the medal count gap is closed
“I thought Jaromir Jagr and Sergi Federov were dead”
DH, I believe you’re confusing them with Canada’s dreams of winning more medals than any other country. Their ridiculous “Own the Podium” slogan is more like “Pwn the Podium”.
Arkady,
no, I haven’t seen a match before, there’s a West Indian league that plays regularly on a field near my house in the summer time. I’ve only noticed a guy throwing a ball with another guy wielding what looks like a giant paddle.
They do look like they are having fun,
I’m making a point of observing them for a while this summer to see what’s up with that. 😉
ski cross is exciting – especially when a few of them are on the track at the time (vs earlier rounds of just 1 at a time)
Anyone watch that “ski cross” stuff? INSANE!!
Kens, I agree that Jagr and Federov are doing well, although did you see the hit Ovechkin put on Jagr? Talk about sending a message! That was solid.

Jagr is playing his ass off. He is gunning to get back into NHL. Federov is not too shabby either.

Biff, “Own the podium” might as well be “smoke the opium”
