This site needs hits and as wide an audience as possible. Keeping it free and open is a huge help in this regard. Bear in mind that there are ads on this site. There is a bottom line to think about here. I hope the registration system never, ever returns. If you do not like the trolls, do not interact with them. Yes, it is that simple. It is not fair to ask Mr. B to do something that will compromise the success of this site so that one or two people will feel more comfortable. That just is not realistic.

I found it so much more fun to read when everyone had a handle. You are still anonymous, who is Brown Bomber, CHP, putnam-denizen, or New Stoner, but an anonymous identity? Except for the few people who post with their names, everyone is still anonymous.
Bring back registration! It was so much more civilized. The trolls are obviously regular readers, as they started up within hours of the registration going down. Registration was the only thing keeping them in check.
I vote for no registration and keeping things as open as possible.Just ignore trolls.

I agree completely that some people should chill out about other people denigrating their neighborhoods (can’t we all just get along, and not in Park Slope, please?)-
But I do find it creepy that some people actually post with other people’s signatures. If I were CrownHeightsProud, I’d be irritated about that, too.
So I think keeping the registration is worth it.

you must see 377 Lincoln Road up close and personal and you’ll understand. This property (in Lefferts Gardens but outside the historic district) is much unattractive. note, this is a 2-story plus basement but there must be 14 rooms. you won’t find this in Lefferts Manor where the homes are mostly original and maintain their one-family status. that’s why the “Manor” is so appealing to a lot of potential homeowners.

Lefferts Ave is not dangerous. We just moved here and it’s the cleanest, friendlist neighborhood. one of the best in BK. holla.
