  1. I agree, babs, because no matter how nice that house is, that price is outrageous compared to what other houses in the immediate area sell for, even those in move in condition. What’s that thing about renovating beyond what you can reasonably get back?

  2. Pub is pub, eh? You may not like the Bed Stuy – Clinton Hill remix, but guess what? Anthony just got you fools to post 18 times about nabe creep, and usually OHPs get 1 or 2 comments. Must be a smart guy.

Anyway…at first glance, me thinks then two victorians in Midwood Park and West Midwood are the superstars this week.

  3. The Bed Stuy house is, apparently, named BLISS. I’ve seen it; it is by far the nicest house on the block (and no-one wants to own the nicest house on the block, right?). Still can’t get over the Peer Mirror – can’t decide if you only see your reflection if you’re a member of the peerage, or if it’s just really hard to see into so you have to peer at it. The rental apartment is very nice as well and has its own W/D. I’d advise the owner/broker to hang onto it for a few years and give the rest of the block the chance to improve – maybe rent out the triplex as well as the garden level until then.

  4. MM, soon you’ll find out that your house/blk is actually in Clinton Hill and a little later, so will my coop apt.

real estate agents are scrappy – ie they’ll do anything for a sales. but cant blame them as there’s plentify of idiots that can be suckered

  5. The Madison Avenue house was, as the listing states, on the 2008 house tour. The bed-stuy house tour, that is! That said, it is gorgeous inside. My memory is that the current owners had bought it already rehabbed in a horrible fashion and had ripped everything out and rebuilt it. After seeing what they had done, I wanted to start over with my house. The street itself is, if memory serves, fairly stark. Nothing a few trees and committed neighbors couldn’t solve (I live on Putnam, which is hardly pretty).

Shame that a shameless broker has undercut what might be a strong listing.

re: Ditmas Park house, I didn’t know Ditmas went all the way to Avenue M!”

That’s just the CL map linking to “18th Street” not the specific address – which you do get to from bstoner’s GMAP link, just south of Foster. So the heading “Ditmas Park, Midwood Park” in the ad is accurate enough. It’s in Midwood park, a block or so from the DP historic district and within the loosely defined “Ditmas Park” that people use to describe the general area in VF.
