Yeah, Bainbridge place is blah, but for 500k, it’s not a bad deal. Assuming that you could get 1,500 a month for the rental and do something useful with the basement, if you put down a nice DP your costs after int. deduction could be around 2k a month. Unless you’ve got some fundamental objection to B-S, it’s hard to top that.

Pigeon, the house tours are sponsored by the Crown Heights North Association. This year’s tour will be Saturday, Oct 2nd. We’re meeting now to find this year’s houses. There will be plenty of publicity this fall.

I see no indication, basementalist, that Mr. B is being held responsible for the current state of the market. However, there are choices to be made about what is listed on this blog. Besides, there is no contradiction in asking to view houses that are BOTH accessible for “middle class NYers” — that is, not only trust fund babies and bonused bankers — and worth considering — that is, not crap.
Amenities? Well, there’s the projects half a block away. Also a pretty good Jamaican restaurant. And Saratoga park, which is beautiful.
BC…you can get in potential trouble using a one family as a two but not vice versa.
