Eastern Parkway is not only directly on the tracks, but it is also next door to the two worst buildings on the block (run down, kids hanging out on the front stoop etc). also, it has almost no backyard to think off. and finally, they slapped a really ugly addition onto the front of it last year.
a few realators have had the listing over the last year or so, but I don’t think they’ve gotten many bites. if you go out there, you’ll see why.
Re: 4:09’s comment, could Property Shark be so wrong on dimensions? I also can’t imagine a 42 foot building with a 45 foot lot.
No way the Vanderbilt house is 21 feet wide. Looks between 13 and 16.
Yes, Eastern Parkway building is on the tracks.
I’m going to check out Eastern Parkway too…but I think that this house buts up against the Franklin Ave Shuttle….I’ll find out tomorrow!
I am wondering about the Vanderbilt house. The facade is beautiful, the block very nice. This price is pretty good too, I think, but then I checked the lot side and unless Property Shark is wrong, this thing has no backyard (lot 21 x 45). It looks intact on the inside, clean, decent floors, etc. But the kitchens look pretty crummy in both apartments; definately the sink is odd and all of the rooms somehow look disjointed and a mess. Maybe the furnishings don’t help, but it looks like the kitchens are poorly laid out as are the rooms.
I am just thinking aloud on this one. I think that this needs some work to be comfortable.
The Bed Stuy house has been on the market for a while – since last summer. It is GORGEOUS – one of the best renos I have seen in the neighborhood, but it is a bit far out.
(ft Greene)-I had a sink in bdroom as a kid. Was kind of handy. (especially in big family with only 1 full bath).
Wouldn’t call ‘big flaw’ that 2nd bdroom on top floor doesn’t have direct access to bath on that floor.
Certainly if bdrm used kid – they arent like adults and have to use toilet in mid of night.
A preference only – to have all your ‘preferences’ need to build or do total reno on own house.
And Mr B – correct the address for Pk Slope already. Felix is in Ft Gr – but this house is 6th Ave.
sorry, washington AVENUE (not street)
