  1. Vanderbilt house looks narrow in the photos to me. Also what’s with the spiral staircase? Such a pain if you have to use one of those things routinely or if you’ve got kids or older relatives staying with you.

  2. The Property Shark lot dimensions are correct. I’ve been in the house, and what was its back yard was sold many years ago (not by the current owner) to the nursing home next door. There’s a strip behind the house, maybe 5′ deep, and that’s it. I was told years ago that this house has both a basement and a sub-basement (originally accessible through a trap door), which may have been built to conceal smuggled goods in the 19th century…interesting if true.

  3. We looked at the Eastern Parkway House today. It is very small, there is no backyard–not even a door out, the Franklin Ave shuttle runs past it and it needs a complete reno. It should be on the market for $700K. And there were several used condoms on the roof…. Too bad all of that latex couldn’t stop the “new” roof from leaking.

  4. If property shark is promoting its site as a valuable and official research tool for real estate buyers, which it totally does claim, it needs to be accurate ALL the time. Sorry. We’re talking about hundreds of dollars, and millions of dollars, depending on the property, at stake in such sales.

  5. Tha’s crazy. Property Shark is awesome. It’s far easier to use and more up to date that oasisnyc.com.

    You must work for oasisny.com!

Of course there are errors, but aren’t there always?

  6. Property shark is perennialy wrong. It listed our house as 2 stories — it’s 3.5 stories, so that’s quite a difference. I wouldn’t trust that site for real information. Any information, for that matter.

oasisnyc.com is actually a much more solid source of info on properties.

  7. Also, the Bed Sty property looks OK, but all that high glossed wood….. What I would need to do –immediately – is redo the floors to take off that high gloss bowling alley poly which is all over everything — even the stairs.
