This new listing at 395 10th Street in the South Slope ain’t much to look at right now, but it’s a nice-sized house in an increasingly popular part of town. Obviously the Flintstones look of the exterior in a real downer and, while there’s an old claw foot tub and a mantel or two, much of the original interior charm has been purged. Two strikes against it. The price, however, has just been lowered after a month on the market to $1,495,000 and if someone with more modern inclinations buys this place he or she won’t have to feel guilty about gutting something historic.

My biggest problem with the F train is how few people get off the train until Park Slope (heading home from Manhattan). No seat till Brooklyn! It’s a commuter train. That and the bazillion stops.
mta schedule shows 18 minutes from 4th avenue to West4th st. So from 7th Avenue say 20 minutes.
Yeah, NYGuy. I commented earlier that the floorplan was a mess. that bath in the kitchen with the tiny shower stall??? What’s that all about???
Seems though with that one and the one on the top floor in the rear that adding a full one on the second floor would be quite easy…as long as they ran the vents!!!!
I just saw the floor plans. Is it me or did they do the bathrooms all backwards. Wouldn’t you want to the half bath on the main floor and the full bath upstairs?
Closest F stop is between 7th & 8th, not 4th.

park slope is many nice things, but conveniently located isn’t the first that comes to mind
it works for me. i can take the R and get into soho in 20 minutes or take the R to atlantic and switch the N express and work is just two stops away and that’s like 15 minutes.
*rob*
I think what this discussion points out is that anyone thinking of buying in brooklyn when they work in Manhattan really needs to do the commute a few times before they are certain how long it will take.
How ’bout those ceilings!!!!!
Also, this is not a Brooklyn Properties listing.
LOL. The F train doesn’t take 40 min to get from 4th avenue to to 34th st.
ishtar…Utica to Penn is usually 25 minutes, max….one stop further than Nostrand (it’s probably all of 45 seconds or so from Utica to nostrand).
