While some of the interior stylings are a little precious for our tastes (how about a little color?), there’s no arguing with the quality of the house itself at 100 Sixth Avenue in Park Slope. The owner’s triplex has five bedrooms and as many fireplaces. The garden apartment also looks particularly nice. Still, with a price tag of $2,950,000 for a house on Sixth Avenue, you’d expect perfection. Think they’ll get their price?

  1. There was a PDE listing of jerry Minskey’s that was HOTD about a week ago..it was far more professional and used the large format scrolling pics as well. It had all the bells and whistles.

  2. Re teh virtual office — actually I like the new search engine (and that it uses a quasi MLS) but the actual presentation of the properties is meh. Also, I feel like the photos are too small or not clear enough, or something.

  3. 11217 — I guess we just travel in different circles. I actually have kids and send them to public school. There are certainly middle-class families and maybe even a few wealthy ones for all I know. But from my admittedly unscientific sample, the vast majority there are not. I’m also sure the income levels rise with the reputation of a particular school, and vice-versa. But my few truly wealthy friends — the ones who buy three million dollar brownstones — send their kids to private.

  4. Wow, that is unbelievable Babs…and agreed, the new website is the suck.

I might add I was quite surprised PDE had this listing (now we know why); BHS and Corcoran have always kicked their butts in TH listings.

  5. “Would have fetched 3.7 mil @ market peak.”

    That is ABSURD, BHO.

The largest sales price I saw in the North Slope at peak (for a typical Brownstone home) was 3.3 million for a house on Berkeley between 8th Avenue and Plaza Street West.

If you’d like to refute that, I want to see your proof.
