Back in early 2007, when 43 Love Lane was a House of the Day, the carriage house replica had an asking price of $3,500,000. Needless to say, it didn’t sell. Over the course of 2008, the asking price ticked down gradually, actually getting as low as $2,195,000 in early 2009 before getting taken off the market. Now it’s back, and the asking price this time around is $2,500,000. We shall see.

  1. Pigeon, I actually agree with nems. I don’t think he/she is implying the location in terms of where it is situated in Brooklyn Heights sucks. It’s pretty much smack dab in the middle. The issue, to me as well, is Love Lane itself is a relatively ugly street in comparison to all of the others in the Heights. The lane it faces has some beautiful homes along the right, but, as someone said, the left side facing out is that ugly garage that doesn’t look like it’s being converted anytime soon. I personally think the actual spot on which the home sits has somewhat of an abandoned feel to it. Not “neighbourhoody” at all.

  2. The reason it has been on the market hasn’t changed.

Love Lane Mews (38 apartment and two townhouse development) is still being built, same story for three years running. The good news is they might actually wrap it up this summer. The less good news is the tractor-trailers that roll down Love Lane to supply the CVS on the corner will still be parked right across from your lovely new carriage house at 4 a.m.

    Enjoy.

  3. So is this “new construction” using the shell of an old carriage house, or is it completely rebuilt as indicated on Corcoran? And is there any kind of yard, or is it just the roof deck?

  4. “nice quiet side street”

They finished that huge building project on College Place (which this house faces)? Haven’t been keeping track…
