Back in early 2007, when 43 Love Lane was a House of the Day, the carriage house replica had an asking price of $3,500,000. Needless to say, it didn’t sell. Over the course of 2008, the asking price ticked down gradually, actually getting as low as $2,195,000 in early 2009 before getting taken off the market. Now it’s back, and the asking price this time around is $2,500,000. We shall see.

  1. 11217, time to serve up some better alternative listings. I know it’s BK Heights but damn this cant be as good as it gets with $2.5M right?

  2. I haven’t been in BH for a while, but I avoided Love Lane with the garage there. My friend, a 6 foot guy, got mugged there. In fairness, I haven’t seen the new construction across the street, so can’t imagine what this whole thing looks like now. (About the place itself, I agree with 11217 – I think it lacks charm).

  3. I only somewhat agree, Biff.

I think Love Lane is beautiful.

When I had weekly business on Hicks street for about two years, I always tried to walk down Love Lane (despite the huge parking garage).

But, though really special, I agree that Love Lane is not one of the more desireable streets in the Heights on which to live.

  4. “The tractor-trailers that roll down Love Lane to supply the CVS on the corner will… be parked right across from your lovely new carriage house at 4 a.m.”

    Oof!
    That would really suck.

  5. And to be sure, this home isn’t actually IN the lane. It faces it and feels somewhat detached from it. And as there are virtually no other homes adjacent to it, save for one other carriage house with little charm, it just seems to have a feel of isolation (as much as one can feel isolated in the middle of BH).

  6. Yes, I do agree that Love Lane, despite it’s name, is the least lovely of the BH carriage house lanes. That’s true. But still, “sucks”? No.

  7. Seems like this would really have to be seen to know whether the interior pulls it off or not. I wish there were more than three inside pix.

The “recessed lighting” seems to protrude to me .. . .

And, yeah, location “sucks?” Glorified alley? But that’s part of the charm of these carriage house rows, yeah?

Ceiling does not look low to me, not on the ground floor, anyway.

The original 3.5 million was, well, what can I say. As far as the price now, I don’t know. Maybe? Maybe they could get close despite the unpallatableness of raising it. Don’t know.
