House of the Day: 544 3rd Street
We’re loving this new FSBO listing at 544 3rd Street in Park Slope. The one-family limestone is a gorgeous time capsule, complete with woodwork, wallpaper, stained glass and alcove sinks. Heaven! The asking price of $2,675,000 looks pretty reasonable in light of the recent sale of 607 2nd Street for $2,700,000. What do you think?…

“in fact most people in this neighborhood looks schlubby, worn-out, and bored.”
Kempt Millianaires live in Manhattan.
Schluby Millionaires move to Brooklyn.
who is really interested in a townhouse with a balcony sized garden?
i would sacrifice original details anyday and use one of the precious parlor room and kill the garden munching extension.
3rd st is nice to look at but front garden, big houses and short lots make less appealing to many modern buyers.
$2,150,150.02
nice bones, but i hate that wood tone and would definitely get rid of period lighting and wallpaper…would also like to see kitchen and bath photos. without that you can’t really get a sense of what’s up.
rob – they probably look schlubby and worn out bc they have all of their cash tied up in their houses and they are working hard to keep it all going. as to bored, i can’t comment. i like park slope.
Noki,
if that other PS house last time is not your fancy, maybe this one will do?
my ghetto side giggles and cringes when people think that a house just a few blocks from me is worth 3 million dollars. WHO are these people buying these? im being serious. that is a lot of money! no one i ever see walking around looks very beverly hills-ish. definitely not a single person LOOKS like a millionaire. in fact most people in this neighborhood looks schlubby, worn-out, and bored.

“Yeah, I love this one. I would not change one thing. I especially love that bedroom wallpaper with the painted fireplace.” (Ringo)
Well, that’s one way to go, just don’t change anything. Seriously. I mean short of serious deterioration or something not functioning . .. I like the wallpaper too.
.. a lot of it will hinge on if the systems need to be completely redone, right? hard to tell from pics.
Yeah, I love this one. I would not change one thing. I especially love that bedroom wallpaper with the painted fireplace.
No idea about price. Not up on the PS market.
