House of the Day: 371 8th Street
This brownstone at 371 8th Street surely has great potential for an intrepid renovator. The 12.5-foot-wide house may be in need of a gut renovation as the listing points out (hence no interior photos), but the exterior is charming and the location is nothing to sniff at. How about that price? $900,000 for 2,250 square…

How about that price? $900,000 for 2,250 square feet of space? That’s $400 a foot before you even talk to an architect. We shall see.

LOL Dave :o).
I smell a bidding war. I’ll buy for 270K.
Despite it’s svelte dimensions, this house does fit a certain niche market:
Bulemic yoga enthusiasts with a collection of flat screen televisions and a preference for murphy-type beds.
I’ll take it for 260K.
i know someone who lives in a house this wide. b/c it is so narrow there is not bathroom until you get to the third floor where it is inbetween 2 bedrooms. the ground floor is kitchen/dining, parlor is formal and top 2 floors are bedrooms with bath inbetween. it is beautifully renovated but still feels really narrow and very railroady. they need to drastically lower this price.
I wish DIBS had a couple of teenage sons who would mock him by yelling ENSUITE BATHROOM a hundred and fifty times a day.
Honeslty, I am beginning to think the ensuite bathroom thing is a drinking game I slow to pick up on.

This had me laughing so hard my belly aches!!
bigger mystery is how current owner managed to snag this property last year for $250k. (from someone who owned forever)
Think of the fun you can have everyday racing your neighbor up the staircase to the front door.
If you could combine this house with the adjoining one, now that would make one spectacular property!!!!!!
