What’s a beautiful house in Crown Heights North worth these days? We have no idea, but this listing at 1265 Dean Street should help provide a data point. The four-story Romanesque Revival house is dripping with original detail, including some serious wood paneling, and is located on “one of the loveliest blocks in all of Brooklyn,” according to the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The corner location means lots of light but, on the downside, it also means higher taxes. The asking price is $925,000. Any guesses?

  1. “BHO/what — I have no dog in the fight over the value of the house or the quality of the neighborhood, nor do I profess any knowledge. Do you deny that you and what are the same?”

  2. “You shouldn’t disrespect my area, What. I’m not surprised that posters here think it’s some kind of horrible place. But you should know it’s really not even close to the toughest part of Brooklyn (not to mention NYC). Take it from the guy from ENY.”

Come on East New York stop that! That area is Hood and you know it! Just because you see some retards wondering around that doesn’t mean Crown Heights has “Come of Age”.

“What- I live here- you don’t. I post what I know. As does Montrose and ENY.”

As Richard Pryor would say “How long must this Bullshit go on”!

Hey Numbskulls how about this- Take a walk around the neighborhood on a summer night about 11:00PM at night. Get back to me if you can.

  3. BHO- the truth is we have different experiences nad I know a lot of people in this neighborhood who feel the same way as ENY, MM and I, so that seems to be a truth you can’t handle. Crown Heights is a huge neighborhood and sure some parts are rougher than others but as I said, you don’t live here. Your stories are anecdotal, or maybe even untrue, so it’s hard to see where you can claim any real insight into the neighborhood.

That said, I don’t have any vested interests to protect- I rent. I tell the truth- which is based on my living here for 6 years.

  4. “That neighborhood is ACE HOOD SON!!!…Montrose Morris and Bxgrl is going to get you killed!”

    ROTFLMMFAO

    “Their loss.”

    They see it differently.

“it’s really not even close to the toughest part of Brooklyn (not to mention NYC)”

At $925K, it doesn’t have to be. Matter ‘fact, it better not be.

“I live here- you don’t. I post what I know. As does Montrose and ENY.”

I have peeps that either live there or have lived there. I considered raising my family there until they told me what THEY knew. I know your vested interest is locked in but there are readers on this blog who are asking what the area is like and they want the truth whether you can handle it or not.

BHO = What. Very fasionable when the gospel doesn’t go your way.
