$1,650,000 isn’t a very high price for a four-story house in Fort Greene, so we’re not particularly optimistic about what this four-family at 179 Adelphi Street must look like on the inside. (The lack of photos ain’t helping either.) The listing does cite the existence of original details though, so maybe it’s not so bad….

Speaking of the house on Adelphi again…
Unless it’s totally ruined on the inside (and even then, possibly) or packed with rent-control tenants, that price could be completely do-able under some scenarios. It’s not cheap, but it’s def within range for Ft. Greene/Clinton HIll–which are unbelievably great neighborhoods to live in right now. A lot of people posting have obviously never been here. I’m fine with keeping it that way.
Street life, farmers market, restaurants, racial and econ diversity, artists and writers and plumbers in addition to lawyers, less-insane prices than most of this town, the stability and color provided by Pratt, landmarked neighborhoods that are harder for schmuck developers to ruin– works for me.
Come to think, it’s pretty much only R/C tenants that could keep a 4-story at this address this cheap. You could look it up.
Nothing under water over here 11:31…lots and lots of equity.
