House of the Day: 328 Senator Street
This new listing at 328 Senator is handsome indeed and on one of the best blocks in Bay Ridge but the asking price of $1,299,000 is also definitely on the aggressive side for the area so we shall see. I don’t get the sarcasm towards invisible, peggymax. If you live in Bay Ridge then you know full well a huge amount of people who live there as adults grew up there. I only lived there a year and I know that. And I absolutely do think that fact could drive the prices higher on some properties artificially. If somebody who grew up there and is entrenched in the neighborhood and committed to staying near their family sees a nicer property fully renovated, they may spend more buying it as a lifelong home than a newcomer who is not sure they’re going to stay long term.
Well, I guess Douglas Elliman didn’t appreciate Brownstoner’s comment about the price, because they pulled the listing.
Yep, you have it right invisible. We here in Bay Ridge inbreed and brew moonshine!

not a facetious question…
who exactly wants to live in bay ridge at a price like this, or even a couple hundred less – is it generally people who grew up there? just seems a world away from civilization and very… entrenched.
i’d like to hear if there is anyone here who is / has looked here, is this the kind of thing that competes with jersey or SI?
