This new listing at 158 Saint Johns Place is impressive, both in look and price. The current owner paid $2,500,000 for the five-story brownstone in 2008 and then, apparently, went to town on the renovation. Given the quality of the job, it’s hard to imagine there’s much of a profit margin left, despite the current asking price of $3,249,000. For people who care about this kind of thing, the floorplan is particularly interesting to look at in terms of layout decisions.

what is so great about the kitchen? looks like a mcmansion to me.
Why bad timing, Maly. i bet this is gone in less than 60 days.
I have to say when I first came to Brooklyn this block made me fall in love with Brownstones. I have always loved this style of brownstone. I really hope that the owners get what they want… A year after i came here a house on St. Johns Pl was going for 900K and I thought that was A LOT of money. I really love this place…
Fancy renovation, interesting choices, bad timing.
Hate the renovations, ugly
needs reconfiguration.
i hate the kitchen and living room on different floors
a lot of wasted space.
mopar, probably because you don’t have nice dishes and glasses to be seen in the glass-fronted cabinets. 🙂
While I like the white tile – isn’t it a pain in the arse for the backsplash behind the stove? Splattered oil getting into the grout. I see some people do a single-piece backsplash for the stove section.
I’m just trying to be a kitchen hater for DIBS’s sake.
Oh yeah, Dave. Kitchen is not to my taste. However, I agree it’s very well done.
Doesn’t get much nicer than that. Probably one of the best kitchens we’ve seen. There will be haters though.
