House of the Day: 77 Midwood Street
This new listing at 77 Midwood Street may not be the priciest listing in PLG–that distinction still belongs to 20 Midwood Street at $1,780,000–but it’s still a pretty penny for the beautiful but historically discounted nabe. This new listing at 77 Midwood Street may not be the priciest listing in PLG–that distinction still belongs to 20 Midwood Street at $1,780,000–but it’s still a pretty penny for the beautiful but historically discounted nabe. We suspect that Number 77, which is asking $1,579,000, may make life difficult for Number 20, given that the less expensive house’s historic details look just as impressive. We shall see though: The five-bedroom house traded for $1,300,000 back in 2007 (after being a House of the Day in 2006). Update: For anyone curious about what the kitchen looks like, you can check out 77MidwoodStreet.com.

I’m running to buy my Lotto ticket as well. This house is just gorgeous! I love the porch, and the clean/spare look of the bathroom.
The 2 car garage is such an added bonus.
I’ve seen inside, and it’s every bit as beautiful as the pictures indicate. Perfectly preserved woodwork, maybe the best I’ve ever seen. It’s close to Flatbush, but on this block of Midwood, you’d have no idea there was a busy street at the end of the block. Super quiet. I bet they get their price. In Park Slope this place would cost $3M easy, and someone would pay it.
The striped facade is original and striking, a twist on other striped designs that were commonplace at the time. This is a distinctive and beautifully appointed house. It is also in pristine near-original condition, which for reasons I cannot fathom is regrettably rare in New York City.
Gorgeous house, and very nice renovation, but given that prices are down about 20% since 2007, I think the asking price is optimistic.
Wow the prices! PLG in my opinion from visiting during the open house events has the nicest scale and layouts among modest sized row houses in Brooklyn. Kitchens are in the back and big.
OMG Brooklynista, you’re right! i’m salivating over this one too — it is beyond gorgeous. mr. hedman truly did his thing – the interiors of these homes is breathtaking and what these people have done to theirs is simply amazing!
benson, we all know NYC mints new millionaires by the day
Not seeing the connection here between buying the house and being wise. Its a handsome house but it ain’t gonna do anything for the buyer’s wisdom.
