Construction wrapped up at 571 Carroll this January and there has been radio silence ever since. Signage went up on the building but nothing’s up on StreetEasy. We called and found out that the developers are still waiting on “paperwork” and it could be another two months before the building launches. There will be 18 rental units in total, all one bedrooms. Prices will start at $1,800 a month but no word on how high they’ll go.

Duly filed under “Takes one to know one.”
If these are 1 bedrooms, then each apartment looks as though it has a real balcony and a juliet (one in living room, one in bedroom).
Definitely looks as though each apartment does indeed have a real balcony. Sorry it does not have 2 balconies per 1 bedroom apartment. I think most renters will get over it.
“Those are NOT juliet balconies…they look plenty big enough for a couple of chairs and maybe a bistro table. Somewhere to have a coffee and read the paper.”
First, yes some of them are real balconies, but the ones in the middle are clearly juliet balconies. It’s a set of patio doors that open on to a railing. Thrilling! Secondly, no one said that it wouldn’t rent. It’ll rent probably no problem. That doesn’t take away from the fact that the building does look ridiculous in the context of Carroll St between 4th and 5th ave.
Some of you are absolutely freakin’ NUTJOBS!!
If we took a poll of potential renters in the city and posed the following question:
1. Would you rather have an ugly balcony or NO balcony.
Guess what 99% of the respondents would say?

Such snobs.
I don’t care what anyone says, I like it. I like the railings they close, granted a juliet balcony is not ideal for sitting…but….I like the set back, I like everything about it.
*** sticks tounge out***
Look at the tan finger building on 4th and carroll, that is freaking ugly…………..
that turns my stomach….
>What the hell are you going to do with a julian balcony, address the subjects of Carroll St every morning?
LOL!
But if you’re Rob, you can throw water balloons at:
-kids
-nurses
-strollers
-moonfaces
-‘tards
-environmentalists
and Coop members
I disagree with that, rob.
Thank you CMU. Wow is this bad
I walk past this a few times a week and am astounded to find something new to laugh at each and every time.
I try to keep my eyes on Enrique Norten’s building across the street. What a contrast.
This building does look like crap. What the hell are you going to do with a julian balcony, address the subjects of Carroll St every morning? You’ll have mosquitoes and other bugs in there with that setup. The price starting at 1,800 on the other hand for a one bedroom is at least reasonable but that’s probably for a ground fl one bedroom facing the front.
