Not surprisingly, we’re digging this new listing at 135 Eastern Parkway aka Turner Towers. The three-bedroom co-op is on a high floor with great light and has been recently renovated. In particular, the bathroom and eat-in kitchen were done over very tastefully in our view. Like all the apartments in this building, ceilings are high and the floors and beamed ceilings radiate old-school goodness. The asking price on this particular unit is $1,100,000. Think they’ll get it?

I’m also wondering how much of an annual imposition I would find the West Indian Day parade. It’s OK for us now, because we’re off EP, but living right on EP? It might get old to have to get out of town that weekend every year.
:-/ i’ve never been to the west indian day parade, but is it really that bad that you have to leave down for the weekend!?

Wow, what a deal! And the maintenance is ONLY $1,765. Does it include daily massages and manicures? Like someone said, nucking futs!
I love this building, but a unit on a low floor (#101 sounds like a low floor) might be a bit loud with traffic noise. Unless it’s in the back.

I guess the downside for buying a large apartment here is the higher maintenance and flip-tax, and for a growing family intent on staying a while, the not-so-wonderful school district. Do love the size though, although the kitchen needs to be redesigned to better utilize all that space.
Clearly, there a few posters that need to refresh their perspective about Eastern Parkway. At this location there is good proximity to the botanical gardens, the museum, the central branch of the library and Prospect Park. The 2 and 3 stop right in front of the building; the 4 and 5 is a six minute walk and the same can be said for the Q,B at Seventh Avenue.
Let’s add the burgeoning Vanderbilt Avenue, a short walk to the Park Slope Food Coop, revitalizing Washington Avenue. If you’re in the market for a large apartmet in a large building, why not this one?
it really looks like a giant insane asylum mental hospital from the outside (i say that in a good way!)

people have said here before that there’s a 25% fliptax.
so add that to the selling price…
Wow, that maintenance is pretty hefty.
It seems like a lovely apartment with plenty of room and a pretty nice layout. I am surprised at the over-million dollar pricetag for Eastern Parkway, but who knows!
This is not a combined apartment, but the original floorplan has been altered. The kitchen and maid’s room were combined to create a larger kitchen. The room that is identified as den/bedroom was originally the living room (notice, no closets). The combined living/dining room once had a wall enclosing a dining room. This would have resulted in a corridor to the original living room and a butler’s pantry between the kitchen and the dining room. Gracious likving from an earlier time.
