Co-op of the Day: 31 Pierrepont Street
The top-floor duplex in the gorgeous Pierrepont Street townhouse (center building, with bay windows) is cute as a button. In addition to the private roof deck (awww yeahhh), we’re digging the traditional brownstone-y goodness of the living areas. The top-floor duplex in the gorgeous Pierrepont Street townhouse (center building, with bay windows) is cute as a button. In addition to the private roof deck (awww yeahhh), we’re digging the traditional brownstone-y goodness of the living areas. The sloping roofs of the mansard-roofed top floor aren’t going to be for everyone, be we think they have some charm in a Parisian-garrett kind of way. The major drawback (and probably deal killer for anyone with a small child) is the hike up three flights of stairs. We’ll be curious to here from those of you in the market what you think of the $849,000 asking price.

someone sounds like an they might be the hyper-sensitive owner or broker here…hmmm?
This aprtment wa son the market about 6 months ago. I went to see it with a friend. It appears as though it was bought, redecorated and is now for sale again. When I saw it it was crowded with furniture and the owners’ stuff. The roofdeck has been repainted too. I thought the place was small and cramped – though the roofdeck would certainly mitigate that for much of the year. I don’t remember what the price was six months ago.
“Perhaps, but if it’s as small as it appears in the photos it has a great deal to compensate for. A great deal indeed.”
i’m sorry, but if you aren’t able to gather a negative tone from this comment with the added “a great deal indeed” coming from someone who knows nothing about the place, then you have a lot to learn about functional reading.
left without the second sentence, i would agree with you completely.
Anon at 1:36, you’re the one who is narrow minded. The poster at 1:16pm simply said “if it’s as small as it appears in the photos it has a great deal to compensate for”. Note the “if” there. The statement was conditional in nature. The post did not assume that the place is small. You’re the only one making assumptions here.
The article was about Manhattan so we just included it in Daily Links.
The pictures make the place look tiny mostly because they indicate it’s not a floor-thru but two half floors duplexed and THAT is tiny.
Why is there nothing on this site about the upturn in the market…As usual the Times buried the article under the fold on the cover of the metro section today. Sure, the subprime mortgage issue gets 2 cover stories (at least) in the last 2 weeks. What gives, Mr. B? Did you miss the article?
I love the look of this building it is beautiful
i have not seen the place which is why i would never make a judement on how big or small this place is.
the photos aren’t the best, fine. but to assume that the place must be tiny because of it is very narrow-minded and the sign of someone who is quite negative.
