Co-op of the Day: 76 Remsen Street, #4C
The bedroom curtains are a bit too Laura Ashley for our taste, but otherwise this two-bedroom co-op at 76 Remsen Street in Brooklyn Heights is looking very nice to us. The 950-square-foot pad has a reasonable monthly maintenance of $936 and a price tag of $850,000. They may not get asking but we bet they…

“Willow street between Pierrepont and Clark is the prettiest in the heights,”
Cranberry btwn Hicks and Henry.
I’m not a big fan of concrete counters.
“Afterall, it is you who entertains your guests in the basement level!!!!”
Have you still not gotten the differnece betweent eh basement and the garden level? I thought we cleared that up long ago.
“Nothing wrong with concrete counters if you’re going for an industrial look in a loft but in a brownstone????”
So narrow minded.
“My problem with the granite islands and ensuite bathrooms is a matter of taste. I actually have some.”
And also apparently a very highly inflated opinion of that taste.
Afterall, it is you who entertains your guests in the basement level!!!!

See, DIBS, you’re still under the impression that my hatred of ensuites with soaker tubs is because I like things “old fashioned.” I’ve already told you that I have concrete counters and all sorts of modern doo-dads in my house. My problem with the granite islands and ensuite bathrooms is a matter of taste. I actually have some.
As for my “broadly characteriz[ing] everyone on this street as horrible,” that was, as I said, “in my experience” after multiple parties and chances to really get to know them. I would never make such a characterization of people who my only knowledge of is their online comments.
“with a clawfoot tub and a shower curtain”
A clawfoot tub while nice to look at is so impractical.
Forget showering in one. You have to line the entire thing with a curtain.
And there are better soaking tubs out there than a clawfoot tub.
It’s the 21st century, I’m not going to bath like it’s the 18th C.
I’m sorry, Dave, but your taste is very tacky. An en suite bath, really!
Vern Yip is too old for me. Especially when Ahmed Hassan is trying to pick up people at the home center to go back and do their yards over.
shillstoner’s obsession with no allowable islands, no stainless steel appliances and a period bathroom with a clawfoot tub and a shower curtain is just incredulous.
“no complaining allowed on maintenance or price on BK Heights”
Well, since 11217 isn’t here, allow me to say that the maintenance on this unit is too high, the square footage is too low, and you can do much better for the same (or less) money in the Park Slope. Now if someone could only help me post links to North Slope listings, we’re all set.
