The contract on this one-bedroom at One Hanson Place in Fort Greene recently fell through, according to the listing, and now it’s back on the market at the slightly lower price of $509,000. It all looks very nice to us: High-floor views, nice finishes, convenient location. And the price-per-square-foot of about $700 is about right (this one-bedroom on the 24th floor recently closed at $691 per foot) so this one will probably move relatively quickly.

  2. horrible. im picturing it now… you have guests over and they are sitting on the couch and cuz the sink is like 2 feet away from them you got roaches crawling all over your guests!

  3. Some of us keep our sinks clean 🙂

In open kitchen apartment layouts, I do prefer the sink to be against the wall, not facing the living room.
In addition, I think that cabinets and/or shelves between the living room and kitchen are a good compromise between openness and separation, plus they give you more kitchen storage space.

That is how my apartment is set up.

  4. whether i have class is irrelevant. sofas 2 feet away from what essentially looks like a glorified slop sink is gross, and for 1/2 a million f’ing dollars i’d expect something a little nicer with much more dignity. maybe some of you people dont mind plopping down 1/2 a million dollars to live like dirt squirrels and river rats, but not me!
