Condo of the Day: One Hanson Place, #13F
The contract on this one-bedroom at One Hanson Place in Fort Greene recently fell through, according to the listing, and now it’s back on the market at the slightly lower price of $509,000. It all looks very nice to us: High-floor views, nice finishes, convenient location. And the price-per-square-foot of about $700 is about right…

I get what you’re saying, Rob, but how do ensure that there is always one “dirty bird” on your floor? Bribes? 🙂
How about when the couch is backed up (touching!)against the kitchen island and there is NO where else to put it? Here at least it could be on the other wall, though not as easily.
Yeah, this feels too tight for this price.
Is this really “Brooklyn’s premier white-glove condominium?”
What is a white-glove condominium?

ew, no. the key to apartment living is always make sure there is at least one dirty bird on your floor whose apartment will absorb all the roaches for the most part. most people think if you have a dirty neighbor, youll get roaches. not so! as long as you keep your apartment relatively clean, as long as there is some other apartment on the floor that is dirtier the roaches will go there. it’s like water always finds… eh, however the saying goes, you know what i mean. honestly, same with bedbugs. some peoples blood is tastier than others… if youre a cold ass ice princess, bedbugs will NOT be coming to you anytime soon. in all my years living in nyc ive learned one thing, vermin prevention is the key.. you gotta make those little suckers like people more than they like you. other than crabs, it seems as if most vermin avoid me!

I just looked at the floorplan enlarged. The bedroom is really small, isn’t it? The living room is not exactly huge either. I guess a half million bucks doesn’t buy what it used to.
Give me a closed kitchen any day!

Well, although rob’s comment is a little over the top, I agree with him. Half a million bucks and the couch is almost next to the sink? I grew up in boxy apartments that looked like this- I’m no fan. A half wall at least would have been better.

ugh. that’s what hired help is for when you are entertaining. do you wash dishes in front of your guests? that’s gauche

Scott, I’ve actually come around to liking open layouts, and I like the sink on the island facing the LR/DR. If I have guests, and I have to be at the sink, as often happens, I’d rather face them than the wall. Conversely, I don’t mind the stove against the wall since, unless you’re standing there frying, you don’t tend to spend a long time at the stove.
Yay! It’s so fun to hate on condos. Too bad there aren’t any drapes in this picture.
BTW, I’d like here in a hot second. Not everyone has as bad layout skills as the owner of this place, btw. Surely you’re all capable of looking beyond how someone has his/her furniture set up?
