Condo of the Day: 383 Carlton Avenue, #11W
If you’re in the market for a modern condo in the Fort Greene area, this penthouse at the Green House at 383 Carlton Avenue will probably strike your fancy. Regardless of the 1,426 square feet of indoor space and 2,000 square feet of outdoor space, $1,350,000 is still a very big check to write in…

Regardless of the 1,426 square feet of indoor space and 2,000 square feet of outdoor space, $1,350,000 is still a very big check to write in this part of town for an apartment, so it’ll be interesting to see if the buyers are there, even at a reduced price. What do you think?

Maybe it’s a tenplex. It’ll justify the asking price.
Which floor plan(s) is it? They’re all slightly different.
m4L, no. i wouldnt buy in harlem. most of harlem is a cesspool and it really is way out in bumblef*ck commute-wise, same with fort greene. would i rent in those neighborhoods? yes. i just think prices in general for marginal neighborhoods are still ridiculous. the problem with harlem and fort greene is that it’s still totally ghetto coupled with the fact of very VERY annoying yuppies (of all colors) who wanna change things because they paid so much to live in the hood. both sets are kinda barfworthy.

im tracking at widget plus 10-15% so i’m sitting pretty.
diet fridge?
great neighborhood, but that seems like a lot of money for such a cramped kitchen/living/dining area.
rob, you should know that plusas will go just about anywhere for a cocktail.
the last place id live if i had 1+ million bux to spend to buy an apartment would be fort greene.

so you would rather spend that 1+ million buying an aptmt in Harlem, Crown Heights, Bed Stuy,…..?
another problem with owning a place like this, that is suppsodly designed to “entertain’, is that no one is ever going to want to come out to your place.

In all seriousness, can anyone comment on the building itself now that it is three or four years old?
And I dig the Euro-fridge.
With a space like this I would assume you would want to entertain, not easy with that fridge. Not liking room dividers either.
