Wow. Could this 4,000-square-foot spread at The Montauk Club be the coolest apartment in all of Brooklyn? If it had outdoor space it would be a lay-up. As is, though, the entire floor of the historic club is pretty darn impressive, with its 45-foot-long ballroom and original leaded glass windows, mahogany wainscotting and inlaid mosaic tiles. Crazy. This time, the listing’s claim that this is a “once in a lifetime offering” isn’t B.S.

  1. incredible piece of real estate. super sexy and very impressive…but seems way overpriced for what it is, especially with annual taxes of $14,000+

how many other apartments are in this building? anyone know what floor this is on? i would hope it’s at the top.

  2. DIBS, maybe 500K? I hate to think of all the things I saw back then. Then again I bought my first place in London Terrace in 1992 for 50k.

I honestly don’t know how first-time buyers get in these days.

  3. Holy Jesus. I love it!!

I live within spitting distance of this building and NEVER tire of walking by and staring at it. I think it’s one of the most spectacular buildings in Brooklyn. The apartment itself looks stunning.
