This true loft in the Sweeney Building in the Dumbo Historic District has a spectacular view of the Manhattan Bridge from its living room and detail-perfect finishes, including an enviable laboratory-inspired kitchen and marble bathroom.

It’s located on the third floor of 30 Main Street, close to Brooklyn Bridge Park and the East River. Designed and built in 1908 by the Moyer Engineering and Construction Company, it is made of reinforced concrete in a style the designation report calls Industrial Neo-Classical. The W. H. Sweeney Manufacturing Company, its first owner, produced metal kitchenware there, and in 2000, Two Trees converted the 11-story building to 85 condos.

Nicely shaped concrete columns emphasize the 11-foot-high ceilings and demarcate the kitchen, dining and living areas. The unit is spacious, with wood floors, white walls, plenty of storage and built-in shelves.

There is a catch, however: Although the loft has 1.5 bathrooms, there is only one legal bedroom. An office is shown attractively made up as a children’s bedroom, but it lacks windows.

The building has a full-time doorman, gym, roof deck, private storage and a bike room. There is an assessment through 2022 of $155.06 a month.

Monthly taxes are $1,043, and common charges are $1,524. Listed by Charles Homet and John Brandon of Compass, the apartment is asking $1.975 million. Worth it?
