There’s certainly room to sprawl out in this two-bedroom, two-bath co-op in Bay Ridge. Located in an Art Deco-style building at 145 95th Street, the unit has some original details, storage and a practical layout to recommend it.

The awning over the main entrance proclaims the building to be Harbor Hall, but when the six-story brick building was completed in 1931 it was known as Harbor Heights Hall. Builders and owners A & A Construction Company took out a large ad in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle that year listing the many modern amenities and all of the tradespeople involved in the construction and lauding the neighborhood as “one of the few localities in Brooklyn that still retains suburban quiet and charm.” The building included a “modernistic” exterior, a “uniquely decorated and designed lobby,” roof gardens and 24-hour doorman service.

Inside, the units boasted concealed radiators, tiled bathrooms in “delicate colors,” a mirrored door in the master bedroom and Craftex in the living room and dining rooms. Craftex, a 1920s brand name for a textured wall finish, still graces the walls in the unit, and there are a few more original details as well.

The entrance opens into a wide hallway that runs through the apartment and boasts four closets. An angled archway leads to the living room, which has parquet floors with an inlaid border, picture rail molding and two small decorative niches in the Craftex walls. Those niches are placed on either side of French doors leading to the dining room. The French doors and Victorian style molding appear to be a recent addition, but other doors and knobs in the home are 1931 originals.

The eat-in kitchen could perhaps use a style update, but appears to be in good shape and is generous in size. It’s got a neutral tile floor, white cabinets and a tile backsplash with fruit-decorated accent tiles.

There are two bedrooms with wood floors, the larger of which has an en suite bath. The other full bath is off the hall next to the second bathroom. There’s no sign of any original Deco details in either bathroom but the white fixtures and white tiles provide a neutral palette. Altogether the unit has seven closets.

The building has a laundry room and storage. The decorated lobby mentioned in the 1931 ads still has plenty of style with a fireplace, geometric patterned stained glass windows and a terrazzo floor. Maintenance for this unit is $1,190 a month.

The apartment is listed for $630,000 with Lisa Babli and Christine P. Olivieri of Ben Bay Realty Co. If it has too much space for you, there’s a one-bedroom in the building on the market with the same firm for $380,000. What do you think?
