This listing in the Toy Factory Lofts strikes us as, well, insane. First of all, $659,000 for a 690-square-foot apartment in this condition in this location? Don’t think so, especially when the same money will buy you a 900-square-foot one-bedroom at the significantly more upscale Oro next door. Secondly, these are the anti-staging photos. Could they have taken worse pictures? You couldn’t create clutter like that if you tried. It almost makes us wonder if the whole listing is a joke.

  1. i live in the area and have a friend who owns a unit at the toy factory lofts. besides the fact that there’s nothing in the immediate area besides gas stations and the pj’s, it’s a long freakin’ hike to the subway. i heard that the oro condo, which is going up right next door, is going to offer residents a free shuttle service to the stations.

obviously, resident has some sort of device that slows down time. that’s the only way to explain how he can walk to the trains in less than 5 minutes.

  2. If you’re covering half a mile in 3-4 minutes, you’re not walking; you’re running.

Brooklyn Law School (corner of Joralemon and Adams) is 4 times closer to the Jay Street station than the Toy Factory, and it takes me a good 3-4 minutes to get there–and I’m a healthy man in his early 20’s with a long stride.

Resident of TFactory, I realize you’re trying to put your condo (and investment) in the best light, but let’s be honest–convenient to transit it ain’t.

  3. Actually, the walk is only 2-5 minutes depending on your pace and the subway of your choice (A,C,F,2,3,4,5,B,Q,M,R). i do it every morning so i know.

A,C,F station at Jay/Borrough hall is only a 3-4 minute walk tops. door-to-door to midtown is 25 minutes.

building is great place to live but that apt is not “staged” correctly. very poor listing, realtor should definitely be ashamed.

  4. It’s almost half a mile (I mapped it on Google Earth) to the Jay Street A,C,F station. Considering the average walking speed is 3mph, I’d say ten minutes is about right.

That’s a pretty a decent hike to the train.

  5. If the old Kennedy Fried Chicken joint on Myrtle and Flatbush was still open (with the beautiful red exterior paint job) AND the ladder actually came with the condo, this might have been worth it . . .

  6. Dude, the only people who say it’s a 2 minute walk from the Toy Factory to the subway station are brokers.

It’s 2 minutes only if you’re running full tilt.

At a normal pace, it’s almost 10 minutes to the Lawrence St station.
