Condo of the Day: Toy Factory One Bedroom
This listing in the Toy Factory Lofts strikes us as, well, insane. First of all, $659,000 for a 690-square-foot apartment in this condition in this location? Don’t think so, especially when the same money will buy you a 900-square-foot one-bedroom at the significantly more upscale Oro next door. Secondly, these are the anti-staging photos. Could…

Could they have taken worse pictures? You couldn’t create clutter like that if you tried. It almost makes us wonder if the whole listing is a joke.

Hi everyone,
First, let me say that it takes a big man to admit that he has made a mistake. So here it goes ” I have made a mistake and the ultimate sin of taking the pics of the property in that condition. It will be fixed in the near future. As far as the location, it should have been listed as Brooklyn Heights and close to transportation. I do not state that it is a 2 to 5 minutes walk to the Subway.
Lastly, regarding comment by “r”, I would be glad to look at your property and see if your property is worth the $800,000 that you claim. Call me. Go to my link posted. If any of you should ever find anything else of interest, please email me directly from my website so it can be corrected. I thank all of you for your comments and for looking out for my clients’ best interest. Aaron http://www.REMAXADVISOR.
Regarding the Toy Factory Pics. I think all of you are being a bit to harsh and most of you need to get a life. I feel the pictures taken of the area and the apartment fully demonstrates the real life situation. I think the RE/MAX Brokers are doing a great job by bringing up the values in the neighborhood. It is also a fact that “Nobody in the word sells more real estate than RE/MAX!” and therefore they must be doing something right. Staging the property would only waste the buyers’ time. In my opinion, you need a certain level of taste to buy this condo. The staging of this apartment would have not effect for that particular buyer. Peace out to all and get a life. Mike
how much for 690 sq ft? they are nuts. I have a fabulous place, on the park, much bigger, much nicer and in a much better neighborhood and if you are asking 659 then I will ask 800K…way to drive the market! nice move remax…
as a soon to be real estate salesperson i love this shit!!!
resident, by your “interpretation” of time, your life will last over 2000 years.
This has got to be the absolute worst listing I’ve ever come across–sitting here, laughing.
maybe i am distracted by the “lovely views” but the walk never feels that long to me. my personal interpretation.
i have lived other places in bklyn and find this one of the most convenient given the number of train options and the distance to the train.
Well, the listing isn’t a “joke”, as it is also listed on the ReMax site:

Bad pictures and all. Yikes.
I live in the bldg as well and I have to attest that there is no way I can get to Jay St. in 3-4 minutes. I stride quickly to make it to the DeKalb stop that quickly, and that’s because I don’t have to wait to cross Flatbush.
Listen, I love living here, but whoever listed this is being misled by shady brokers. I live in a larger apartment and I wouldn’t ask that much. They did, however, forget to metion that there is a gym in the building that is opening next week and there is also a public roof deck, but that doesn’t justify the price they’re asking. So, not only did they have the disadvantage of not using proper grammar and math, but they didn’t state all the facts. Another bit of misinformation is that the parking space can’t be “purchased.” There are only 12 spaces and they can only be rented from the sponsor for $300 a month (and my math is not wrong on that one).
This is the second time I see someone in my building listing their unit for a price that’s incredibly above what anyone would pay and it actually pisses me off because it hurts our “actual” property value.
And don’t even get me started on the fact that they didn’t even bother to clean the place up before taking pictures of it. I agree with “Joe,” this must’ve been a crackheaded realtor who allowed this to post.
