pedestrian crossing

it is all cool to complain about police. But really what are you going to do without them? Carry shotgun? And I saw police action in NYC, Moscow and Tokyo. Trust me NYPD is well behaving comparing to others.

are nypd cars allowed to block a pedestrian crossing. I assume they are not suposed to violate parking rules. They are supposed to show the example. I would assume the only time they would be allowed to violate the laws if there was a real emergency. In this case the officer was buying a soda at a local duane read. I see this happening all the time in park slope and I was wondering if as a citizen I am allowed ot give a ticket to an NYPD cop. I know that citizen arrests are possible in some states for istance.

Cops really don’t give a crap about the rules. Lets be honest the vast majority of them hate the job and are just counting down the days until they hit there 20 year mark and can retire. The best description I heard of what its like to be a cop is as follows. Go into your garage on the hottest day of the summer, piss in the corner and stand there for 8 hours. That pretty much sums it up. If I was a cop I would park my piece of crap impala anywhere I damn well pleased, go into the nearest deli get my bag of pizza flavored combos and give zero fucks about what some some park slope hipster dip shit thought about it. Of course having said that if some black kid punched me in the back of my head and ran off with my Iphone I would go crying to them like a little girl.

just because you are an nypd officer or giving tickets to people does not allow you to break the rules in my view.  keeping using you sirene all the time just to get faster that’s ok but blocking a pedestrian crossing when you need to cross and plus three kids holding your hands then that’s not. on the contrary they need to show the example. don’t bring 9/11 tragedy into this. i never doubt they are heroes and we need also to better pay them.  being a cop shopuld also bring some priviledges but not to park on a pedestrian crossing. so where are we crossing then??
