roofing warranty

we had coyne and mack build our extension 3 years ago. Not even. It was not a ood experience , the roof had to be put on 3 times. Since then I have had leaks and now its bad. Each time Sean Coyne came and “sort of dealt with it”. However now its at its last point of life. it is pitched wrong and its disinigrating, cracking and falling apart. How can I get my money back? I contacted him and was told he is out of the country and will give e names of roofers. Well I have that but I want him to pay for its close to $4000 any chance I’ll get any where with this?

meme2, might you be able to email me offline at jeanmarine at yahoo dot com (jeanmarine@yahoo.com) with the type of terrace material you have?  you posted a deck/stairs pic on an answer to a question I asked a couple months ago and I’d love to know what kind of reddish brick it is, but don’t know how to reach you and found a question you asked – as for your roof problem, I also suggest starting with the warranty – did you have a written contract?  if so read it carefully  (if you email it to me I am an attorney and could as a courtesy take a quick look) and see what your rights are.  My guess is, you could get some money back but maybe not all, so question is whether it’s worth it to you because it costs money to sue someone.  I had a similar situation with my roof 5 years ago and water damage causing bigger problems, but in my case, it wasn’t as bad and the roofer has honored its warranty sufficiently that we are ok for now – so I decided to let it go and just not use them whenever we need a new roof in 10-15-20 years.

Did you have a contract?  Did it say anything about a guarantee for their work or the roofing system?  Often, contractors will guarantee their work for 1-3 years and the roofing manufacturers will guarantee their system (when properly installed) for 10-20 years.

I suggest you get a lawyer and have them contact his company and claim a lawsuit against them. After a horrendous experience he needs to give your money back. Once you feel a suit, he will definitely give your money back.
