interior painters + carpenters

we are looking for a great painter for our apt. we got a quote for just over $4K for 800 sq ft, ceilings, trim, doors, included, plus paint (4 colors). i really dont know if that’s the going rate or if i should keep shopping, but this person comes highly recommended so it’s probably reasonable? otherwise, any great recs? also looking for carpenter to do some built-ins (must be co-op ready insurance-wise) and a pantry. thanks!

When it comes to painting, go for quality of the work, rather than the price. Look at finished jobs don’t just get a price. The price will depend on how much prep work there is to do as well, just painting over the last sloppy job, or do you want the last slop cleaned up first etc? How much cutting (straight lines, between different paint) is there to do? etc Call Patrick De Verteuil, 718-309-3934 he has a great painter on his crew.
